One year ago today

January 28, 2006 we were signing mortgage papers on the first house we have ever owned in the USA. We remain so very thankful that we have a wonderful place to live while we are working with Wycliffe in the USA.

Having spent 24 years of our adult life overseas, we see the amazing blessing and wealth that God has entrusted us here in the USA. It is really incredible. We tend to think that our lifestyle is the norm. It is really the exception.

May we each be found to be trustworthy stewards of all that God has entrusted to us.

Happy New Year!

I hope your holiday season was wonderful. I appreciated family, rest, and the time to reflect on God’s gift to us – Jesus, salvation. The verse that hit me hard this year was the announcement of the angels to the shepherds, “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news of great joy for everyone! The Savior – yes, the Messiah, the Lord – has been born tonight in Bethlehem, the city of David! ”

What struck me most was the bit about “for everyone!” Not just me. Not just us.
