Projected progress

Saturday, November 11th, 2006

It is projected that over the next three years 204 ethnic communities will have access to a New Testament or adequate portions for the first time.  That represents a rate of about 68 completed projects per year. That rate of completion is up about 5% over last year. Over 90% of this is the result of the organizations with which we work.

Time to Change

Chart of translation progressI have to change my logo again. Too much translation work has happened, and the statistics have changed. No longer are 2,529 languages still waiting for work to start. The number is now 2,286!

Sometimes it is nice to have to change things! This is great news.

Right now Ruth and I are working in Fort Wayne, trying to build a stronger support base for our participation in Bible translation. Adequate financial support is necessary for any venture, Bible translation included.

One couple recently encouraged us by sharing their heart and values. They wrote, “For our part, we have been trying to shift the bulk of our charitable contributions away from the secular charities and send our support, instead, to charities which support the work of the church and the spreading of the Word. There are plenty of non-believers out there who can support the secular charities and not enough believers to support the work of the Lord.”
